There’s been a lot of woundedness and grief following the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Those who loved and/or followed him are in mourning, trying to cope.
We have all lost someone and know how painful and jarring death is, especially when it is sudden and violent.
Of course, not everyone approved or appreciated his overall message. For many the messages were an anathema, dichotomically opposed to their beliefs and worldview.
Some in this group have lauded the murder of Mr. Kirk, posting or insinuating it is a well-deserved death.
While I understand the feelings that led to these types of comments, I want to state plainly that there is no such thing as a well-deserved death.
No one deserves to be shot and killed. No one.
We are all children of the Divine/Universe/God and are sacred as such.
All our lives matter.
Opinions, political views, even rhetoric that is viewed as hateful–none of this negates the value of a single life.
We are all precious and we all have value.
All of us matter.
Whether we like it or not, we are all connected to one another. Mr. Kirk’s murder is evidence of this connection as it has impacted many of us, directly or indirectly.
His life mattered just as yours does.
For him to be slaughtered in public was beyond wrong; it was vicious, cruel, and the epitome of anti-life.
He mattered.
I send many blessings to those who mourn for him and hope they find comfort and peace.
For the record, my worldview and beliefs are very different from Mr. Kirk’s.
But it doesn’t really matter.
Thank you kindly for your time and attention. Blessings to you always!
